We run away when the tiniest thing in our life becomes hard.
We don’t want to suffer as human beings, we still don’t like discomfort. Especially in our society today, people are easy to stop when it becomes hard, jobs, relationships, school, and other issues. The ability needs to be revived. Our society is full of individuals that were sensitive and David Goggins informs us that we need to callus our heads to make them strong. We could do exactly the same with our minds once we suffer pain just as our hands are callused by us when we lift heavyweights.
David Goggins in a former navy seal and motivational speaker. He talks about how people these days quite hard tasks. Who is going if nobody can suffer annoyance or criticisms to function as leaders in the communities? Folks don’t want to feel discomfort in life, and when they remain comfortable they don’t have any growth.
To find expansion I needed to confront all these different things which make me feel uncomfortable. David Goggins.
You will never grow, if you constantly run away from things that cause you to feel uncomfortable. Being a Navy SEAL, a gun does not make you the warrior, your mind does. You are to train your brain. It’s easy to practice situations that are military, but your thoughts do, if you enter the fight, what will? Is it going to stop under pressure since it hasn’t had proper training?
David Goggins tells a story of when he had been into bodybuilding and weight training and had only run 10 miles in a year after he signed up to do a 135 mile run for charity. To qualify for this particular race David needed to run 100 miles in 24 hours. He went to attempt to run 100 miles in one day, 4 times after he talked to the race director.

He moved to the race and he said all was well until mile 70, and’he had been totally destroyed’. He sat down in a lawn chair and he couldn’t stand up. Dizzy, light, lightheaded, this is actually the worst case he’d been in his life, even worse than hell week and SEAL training.
His body was at the worst shape of his life because of bodybuilding (he never did aerobic ). Because of that which he put his body his head was in panic mode. He rehydrated and calmed his mind down and began the race. Once the mind knows you are not likely to quit your body keeps going. He was able to complete the race with 101 miles in 18 hours and 56 minutes.
Many obstacles he had overcome in his life but finishing this race and entirely controlling his mind was the catalyst for his enormous success today.
I am not talented, I’m driven. David Goggins
