Though experts urge people who have constipation have a diet rich in veggies, some produce is high in purines, including asparagus, mushrooms, peas, broccoli, and cauliflower. Eating those veggies may not cause an attack as readily as other problem foods; yet nevertheless, physicians might recommend avoiding these plant foods, in addition to dried fava and garbanzo beans, being a precaution.
